African Energy Week (AEW) 2023 has welcomed our prestigious association – Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) as a partner with the goal of advancing regional energy security and economic growth.
This support speaks to our commitment to improving cooperation and collaboration in the energy sector and we are set to advance exploration-focused dialogue at the event on 16–20 October in Cape Town, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
Our dear NAPE President, Elliot Ibie, FNAPE will lead a delegation to AEW 2023, participating in various panels and networking forums centred around energy security and local content in Africa. Our strength as the largest professional association of petroleum geologists, geophysicists, CEOs, consultants, and academia in Nigeria, and is a significant addition to AEW.
Our goals align with that of the organisers of AEW to improve internal energy security, maximize hydrocarbon monetization, and promote economic growth while ensuring a just energy transition. In order to assist our dear country – Nigeria, increase its proven oil & gas reserves and combat energy poverty, at AEW 2023 we would be focusing on upskilling the local workforce and establishing a competitive domestic market.
Over the years, NAPE has played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among Nigerian, African, and international oil and gas professionals, which is crucial for the ethical exploration and development of Nigeria’s substantial reserves. It is dedicated to improving the country’s energy capabilities, fostering innovation, and assuring a sustainable and prosperous future.
As an AEW 2023 partner, NAPE will actively participate in crucial discussions on local content development and sustainable upstream operations in the African oil and gas sector, which will significantly advance the industry. NAPE and the AEC strive to promote growth and transformation in the African energy sector through cooperation and shared goals.
