NAPE President August Speech

Dr. James Edet, FNAPE; NAPE President

TAPPING INTO POTENTIALS | WELCOME TO AUGUST

Dear NAPE Member,

It is already a week into August, but we shall still consider the month as new.
Welcome to another great month and suffice to say, this is to check in on you and every other member of the community.

Reflecting on July and the divestment workshop, it is noteworthy to mention what a brilliant outing we had. The event offered a unique blend of perspective as to various opportunities in the asset divestment and, a deeper dive into data supported timelines that further explains the current conundrum our nation finds itself, as it concerns asset security and dwindling productions. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, HE Timipre Sylva, and NUPRC CEO, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe while delivering their keynote speeches also expressed sound optimism and regulatory support in place to support more transparency with the divestment process and we couldn’t be more hopeful. Many thanks to our brilliant array of speakers, panellists and moderators, many of whom are distinguished fellows of our association. This suggests that our fellowship awardees continue to rise to provide much needed industry strategic insights & guidance and truly, stay deserving of their fellowship, If I may say so.

Collaboration continues to be our leverageable advantage, and with so many events and activities from all quarters in the industry, it is more important to collaborate to deliver quality and timely event for members. Great ideas emerge from collaborative environments. Interactions among people with different backgrounds and perspectives spark new ideas. Thus, connecting with professionals who share similar values and freely share ideas are an essential component of progressive associations, like ours’.

Our commitment is to continue to provide quality events and prime networking opportunities for professionals in the oil and gas industry. Don’t forget, NAPE provides you with the latest information, tools, resources, and training opportunities to help you thrive professionally. It will be a great idea to continue to collaborate with and within NAPE.

I wish you a fabulous month ahead.

Regards
Dr. James Edet, FNAPE
