The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), alongside the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) is set to bring the 2025 Mini Conference to Kwara State University (KWASU) this August!
In preparation for this landmark event, a high-level delegation from NAPE and NMGS visited KWASU for a strategic engagement with the university leadership.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, reaffirmed KWASU’s commitment to fostering industry-academia partnerships, emphasizing the vital role of collaborations in advancing geoscience education and research.
Leading the delegation, NAPE President, Mr. Johnbosco Uche, FNAPE, highlighted the Mini Conference as a key investment in student development, networking, and research excellence, reinforcing NAPE’s dedication to bridging the gap between industry and academia.
Representing NMGS, Engr (Dr.) Umar Hassan, FNMGS (NMGS Vice-President), stressed NMGS’s commitment to strengthening academic-industry ties, ensuring students and young professionals gain practical exposure and mentorship.
Speaking on the role of the NAPE-University Assistance Program (UAP), Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Obi (NAPE UAP Chairman) emphasized the initiative’s dedication to nurturing future geoscientists through structured programs, industry collaborations, and capacity-building efforts.
Also present was Prof. Olabisi Adekeye (NAPE North Central Coordinator), who echoed the importance of regional partnerships in driving geoscience education forward.
To ensure a seamless and impactful conference, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), chaired by Dr. Jimoh Ajadi, was formally inaugurated by the NAPE President during the visit. The LOC has been tasked with delivering a transformative Mini Conference that will inspire, connect, and equip the next generation of geoscientists!
