YP DISTINGUISHED AWARD

NOMINATION GUIDELINES & FORM FOR THE NAPE YOUNG PROFESSIONAL (YP) DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

The NAPE YP Distinguished Service Award is given in recognition of meaningful and outstanding service to NAPE Active Member of the Association under the age of thirty (35) years. The recipient must be financially up to date (proof of consistent payment of annual dues for a sustained minimum period of 5 years from the year of application shall be required) and should have demonstrated enthusiastic participation, organizational creativity, leadership and passion for the activities of the Association. He/she must have served in volunteer position(s) within the Association or the larger society, for a minimum period of four (4) years.

He/she must have assisted the YP Committee in meeting their objectives, including, but not limited to retention of students, collaboration with the local societies to establish greater continuity between Student and YP chapters and the local affiliated society, recruitment of new members, appointments to committees and encouragement/guidance into leadership positions within NAPE.

ELIGIBILITY AND NOMINATION PROCEDURES SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:

The Young Professional (YP) Committee may recommend candidates (with names and supporting biographical data/details of volunteer efforts/accomplishment) to the Chairman of the Distinguished Honours and Awards Committee (HAC), for consideration. Other individual nominations from NAPE members shall be sponsored by two (2) YP members, one (1) Active member and one (1) Fellow who have all paid their dues up to date in the current financial year.

 

RESTRICTIONS:


  • Nominees must not have been disciplined under Section 7 or Section 12 of the NAPE Constitution.

  • Nominees must be alive at the time of selection and must be personally present to receive the award. NAPE Honours and Awards shall not be given by proxy except for posthumous awards.

  • Serving Executive officers of the Association are ineligible for consideration while in office.

  • Advisory Council members are not eligible to nominate or endorse nominated candidates for any category of NAPE Distinguished Honours and Awards while serving on the Council.

  • Advisory Council members are not eligible for consideration for NAPE Distinguished Honours and Nominated Awards while serving on the Council.

  • Members shall not sponsor more than 2 nominees for NAPE YP Distinguished Service award.

SUBMITTING NOMINATION FORMS FOR NAPE FELLOWSHIP:


  • All applications for NAPE fellowship award are to be made on standard templates provided by the HAC and shall be completed online in accordance with the instructions contained therein.

  • Attach supporting documentation such as the nominee’s curriculum vitae, in line with the criteria for the award concerned.

  • Individuals may submit a nomination form on behalf of themselves or on behalf of others. Anyone previously nominated may re-enter.

  • Applicants are to advise their sponsors to respond to the email seeking their reference within the time frame specified in the request.

  • Applications or endorsement received after May 31st, 2025 shall be deemed invalid.

  • Upon receipt, applications become the property of NAPE and will not be returned to applicants.
