Warri Chapter January – June Report

The NAPE Warri Chapter recently hosted their highly anticipated physical Technical/Business meeting on Thursday 4th May 2023 at the prestigious IFESH Hall, located within the esteemed PTI Conference Centre Complex in Effurun-Warri. 

Boasting an impressive attendance, the event saw approximately 78 participants, from various sectors including the Industry, Academia, Young Professionals and Students, who gathered to exchange new perspectives and explore innovative ideas.

At the event, attendees were privileged to hear from Dr. Ovie Benjamin Ogbe, a distinguished Senior Lecturer in the Earth Sciences Department and Acting Director of the Institute of Distance Learning at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) in Delta State. 

Dr. Ogbe took the stage to deliver a thought-provoking presentation entitled “Seismic Analysis of Growth Faults to Predict Sequence Stratigraphic Reservoir Properties: A Case Study of Miocene Deltaic Strata within the Niger Delta Basin.” Drawing upon his vast expertise in the field, he shared valuable insights into the latest research on the topic, leaving the audience enlightened and inspired.

The  May Technical/Business meeting, was presided over by  Mr. Aliyu Adamu, Deputy Director (Training) at the prestigious Petroleum Training Institute in Effurun-Warri. The gathering was fully supported by the NAPE Warri Chapter Executives, who went on to sponsor the event. 

The occasion was marked by a vibrant exchange of industry insights and promising networking opportunities, as participants left no stone unturned in their pursuit of new initiatives and collaborations.

ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS 

In a display of democratic principles, the NAPE Chapter held an election for new officers to lead them to greater heights. The proceedings, anchored by Mr. Aliyu Adamu, Chairman of the session and a respected member of the NAPE Advisory Council, were filled with moments of appreciation and commendation for the outgoing executives. During his address, Mr. Adamu expressed his gratitude to the departing team for their exceptional leadership skills and passion in steering the affairs of the chapter.

 The newly elected executive members are set to steer the Chapter towards new horizons, promising a renewed focus on fostering collaboration and driving growth in the oil and gas industry. Here is a breakdown of the new leadership team of the Warri Chapter.

The newly-elected Coordinator of the Warri Chapter of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), Prof. (Mrs.) Juliet Emudianughe, expressed her gratitude to the members for entrusting her with this position. She gave an acceptance speech on behalf of the newly elected executive, promising to continue building on the successes of their predecessors. 

Prof. Emudianughe also pledged to prioritize collaboration and innovation within the Chapter, ensuring that the oil and gas industry in Warri would experience significant growth under their watch. The new executive is poised for action and has vowed to steer the Chapter towards greater heights in the coming years.
