NAPE Donates High-End Seismic Visualization Workstation to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike(AE-FUNAI)

The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) has donated a state-of-the-art seismic visualization workstation to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI). The official handover ceremony was held on Friday, 19th September 2025, at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Hall, AE-FUNAI, and was attended by the University Management, staff, and students of the Department of Geology and Geophysics.

 

The workstation was formally presented on behalf of NAPE by its President, Mr. Johnbosco Uche, accompanied by the University Assistance Programme Chair (UAPc), Dr. Ifeanyi Obi, and Dr. Augustine Chinwuko, Coordinator of the Awka-Owerri Chapter and Head of Applied Geophysics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK).

In his remarks, the NAPE President emphasized that the workstation was donated to provide undergraduate students with hands-on skills that will prepare them for seamless integration into the evolving oil and gas industry. Alongside the UAPc, he appealed to the University Management to provide a conducive learning environment to house the workstation and ensure that students derive maximum benefit from its use.

8. Staff and students of the Department of Geology and Geophysics

 

Speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ejiaga commended NAPE, represented by its President, for the generous donation. He further assured that the University would provide a suitable facility to house the workstation to enable students to acquire hands-on experience for effective teaching and learning.

The event concluded with group photographs to commemorate the occasion.
