NAPE at NIES 2026: Day Two Highlights

Day Two of the Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) 2026 was anchored by the official Opening Ceremony, which convened high-level government, and industry leadership at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

 

The Opening Ceremony was presided over by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, GCON, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The ceremony also drew the President of the Republic of The Gambia, Adama Barrow, alongside senior government ministers, including the Minister for Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, among other distinguished policymakers, regulators, and energy executives.

 

Addresses during the Opening Ceremony highlighted the summit’s theme on energy security, investment partnerships, regional cooperation, and policy alignment. The discussions set a strong tone for collaborative action and strategic engagement across Africa’s energy landscape.

 

NAPE participated actively as an Official Exhibitor. The NAPE exhibition booth continued to attract robust engagement from delegates, industry professionals, government officials, and international partners throughout the day. Conversations at the booth focused on exploration opportunities, reserves growth, capacity development, and the evolving role of geoscience professionals in strengthening Nigeria’s energy future.

 

Members of the NAPE leadership were present at the Opening Ceremony and other Day Two activities, reinforcing the Association’s commitment to meaningful policy dialogue, professional collaboration, and strategic networking with key energy stakeholders.

 

NAPE’s continued presence at NIES 2026 underscores the Association’s role as a trusted technical and policy partner in national and regional energy conversations.
