October 2025 Message and Reflections from the NAPE President

Dear NAPE Members, Associates, and Friends,

Today, as Nigeria celebrates Independence Day, I extend my warm congratulations to all Nigerians. May this celebration inspire us to unite in advancing both our Association and our beloved country.

It has now been 11 months since I had the honor of assuming the role of NAPE President, and we are gradually approaching the conclusion of this tenure in November 2025. I am pleased that we have sustained our momentum from day one and made meaningful progress together.

September was a remarkable month for NAPE as we:

  • Partnered with Africa Oil Week (AOW) to host the Nigeria Showcase Session during the AOW Energy Conference in Accra, Ghana.
  • Successfully completed the 2025 Computer Workstation Donation Initiative, donating the final workstation to a Nigerian university.
  • Continued preparations for our upcoming NAPE Annual International Conference and Exhibition, which is building up strongly.

Expanding NAPE’s Global Presence: Nigeria Showcase at AOW

I had the privilege of hosting and moderating the Nigeria Showcase Session, a strategic partnership between AOW and NAPE.

With a keynote address delivered by Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Commission Chief Executive of NUPRC, the session brought together top technical and business leaders from Nigeria’s indigenous and independent oil and gas companies, alongside IOCs, to discuss unlocking Nigeria’s exploration potential – spanning onshore, shallow water, deepwater, and ultra-deepwater plays.

The insights shared at this forum serve as a blueprint for Nigeria’s energy future, positioning our industry for sustainable growth and global competitiveness.

Industry–Academia Collaboration

We are proud to announce the completion of the Computer Workstation Donation Initiative across Nigerian universities.

The fifth and final state-of-the-art seismic visualization workstation was donated to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) and was received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the university management.

This initiative reflects our commitment to capacity building and human capital development, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
