A 3-Day Course on Basic Logging Methods and Formation Evaluation was held at Dover Hotel, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki Peninsula, Lagos from September 22 to 24, 2014.
The 3-day Petrophysics course focuses mainly on open hole data acquisition and interpretation. The course covers all the basics of log data acquisition and interpretation. New high technology tools were also reviewed and the applications of those tools described. This includes Nuclear Magnetic resonance, Logging while drilling, Wireline formation testing and borehole imaging. There was a daily workshop covering the topics that were covered during that day using real log data. This helped to consolidate the participants understanding of the topics presented.
The Instructor was Chiara Cavalleri from Schlumberger. She is a Petrotechnical expert working primarily in the field of Wireline logging and related Data Services, acting as an essential technical and communications link between customer, logging operations, data processing and interpretation, and management. This is particularly the case concerning selection of wireline services, advanced answer products, and data analysis for formation evaluation.
